This itinerary is perfect for people who would like to test themselves physically while you climb four peaks above 4,000 m in a week. This is a perfect training trip in preparation for bigger expedition above 8,000m. Climbing these 4 dormant volcanos gives you amazing views of the surrounding areas while Pico de Orizaba is the highest mountain in Mexico and the 3rd highest in North America. Explore Mexico city, soak up the interesting culture and enjoy the delightful cuisine.  Extend your stay and travel to many of the beautiful places Mexcio has to offer.

Itinerary


Day1
Arrival in Mexico City (2,250 m / 7,382 ft.) and transfer to hotel

Day 2
Early pick up at hotel.  2.5 hr drive to Toluca and climb Nevado de Toluca (4,680 m / 15,350 ft).  Return to hotel in Mexico City

Day 3
Drive east of city and climb Malinche (4,460 m / 14,636 ft).

Day 4
Rest day.  Visit of Humantla. Stay in Iztaccihuatl mountain hut.

Day 5
Climb Iztaccihuatl (5,260 m / 17,160 ft)

Day 6
Rest day.  Visit of Cholula.  Stay in hotel in Tlachichuca

Day 7
Rest day.  Prepare for final summit of expedition. Stay in hotel or Piedra Grande mountain hut.

Day 8
Summit Pico de Orizaba (5,640 m / 18,491 ft).  Return to Mexico City (4 hr drive).

Day 9

Transfer to airport

Services


Price includes:

  • All arrival and departure transfer services to and from airport
  • Transport between climbing locations by jeep / mini bus
  • Transfer of duffle bags between locations
  • Accommodation in hotels and mountain huts
  • Qualified experienced guides (4:1 climber: guide ratio except Pico de Orizaba with 2:1 ratio)
  • Meals as shown on the itinerary
  • Climbing permit, all fees and deposits required by the local regulations
  • First aid medical kit for the group
  • Use of a Garmin OutReach two-way satellite GPS and messaging system for the team

Price excludes:

  • Tip (US$60-80 as a standard tip)
  • Lunch and dinner not mentioned in the itinerary
  • Extras hotel charges (e.g. bar bills, laundry)
  • Personal expenses during the expedition such as carbonated drinks and alcohol
  • Additional nights in hotels outside the itinerary
  • Personal trekking and climbing equipment
  • Personal medical, travel & evacuation insurance (mandatory)
  • International airfare
  • Mexico entry visa fee (when required)
  • Single room supplement of US$120 (only in Mexico City)
