Lhotse

Overview

Lhotse is the 4thhighest summit in the world at 8,516 m / 27,940 ft with a beautiful west face forming an impressive wall (photo above). The first part of the climb up to Camp 3 shares the same route as the Everest South-West ridge. Lhotse is noticeably more difficult than Everest due to its steep couloir leading to the summit. This section is clearly the highlight of the expedition and makes Lhotse a very remarkable summit to add to any mountaineering resume.
